The Auger is a multipurpose tool that can be used to rapidly destroy stone or metal blocks that are vulnerable to a Pickaxe. The Auger can be looted from Decayed Sedans and Working Stiffs Crate, and Garage Storage. It can also be found on lumberjacks in the winter biome, as well as the parts. While the Auger can be used as a melee weapon, it is ill-advised as it deals very low damage and can often take a lot of gas just by killing a few enemies.

The Auger requires fuel, in the form of Gas Cans. Refueling will be done automatically or it can be done manually by pressing the reload button (while the Auger is selected and with a Gas Can in the inventory).

As of A13, augers now have a quality level as well as their parts. You can repair the Auger with Repair Kits. It is considered the "end-game" tool to have to build dungeons, caves, bunkers, pits, and anything else that requires mass digging.

Crafting Recipe[ | ]

You can craft the Auger by clicking on any of the parts in your inventory and selecting "assemble". From there you can put your parts into the spots and craft the Auger.

Scrapping[ | ]

Augers are very valuable and effective, thus making them a poor choice for scrapping. However, they do scrap into Scrap Iron.

Heat Map[ | ]

Whenever you use an Auger it affects the Heatmap. If used for long enough or if multiple augers are used simultaneously, it will attract zombies. If the heat level gets high enough, it will attract one or more Screamer Zombies.

For a better understanding of the heatmap and heat, see Heatmap.
