Overview

The Compound Crossbow is stronger version of Iron Crossbow, unlocked after reading the Compound Crossbow Schematic.

The Compound Crossbow is a medium to long-range weapon that fires crossbow bolts as Ammunition. It will reload automatically after each shot and unlike the bows.

It can be used with five different types of bolts: Stone Crossbow Bolt, Iron Crossbow Bolt, Steel Crossbow bolt, Flaming Crossbow Bolt and Exploding Crossbow Bolt.

To equip a different type of ammo than the default Stone Crossbow Bolt, press and hold R, then select the ammo type you want.

By leveling up the the Agility tree and Archery, you will be able to craft the Compound Crossbow at higher level (1-5).

Combat

During combat, Crossbows are a powerful medium to long range weapons, that can kill most Zombies with one headshot.

Due to its slow firing rate and required reloading for each shot a Crossbow should be used with care at short range against more than one enemy or wild animal.
