Cooking system Food is a rather simple process. All one needs is a Campfire a cooking implement such as a Cooking Pot or a Sharpened Stick in the correct slot in the Campfire's GUI, a source of fuel for burning, and applicable ingredients. With a sharp stick as the cooking tool, you will char the food you cook on it, mainly only raw meats are foods to cook on a fire along with boiling Bottled River Water to purify it. Alternatively, you can boil the meat in a cooking pot as long as you add Bottled Water as an ingredient as well.

The tradeoff is charred meat is more filling but dry and leaves you thirsty where boiled meat is the opposite.

Aside from using the fire to cook food, you can craft Blueberry Pie

So far, there is not many different things that you are able to cook as far as meats go. Venison, Rabbit, and pork(?) are the only choices of fresh game in the game world. Most food is canned and preserved sundries that restore various amounts of your hunger meter. And as well as finding canned SHAM on zombies a lot for some odd reason.
