Difficulty adjusts the strength of spawned Zombies in your game. The player may choose between six difficulties:

1 Adventurer Easy Not just a new recruit any more. 75 150
2 Nomad Normal Designed for experienced FPS players. 100 100
3 Warrior Hard Now you're starting to impress. 150 83
4 Survivalist Harder Kids don't try this at home! 200 66
5 Insane Hardest You're one brave Mother! 250 50

Beyond the impact on Player vs Zombie, and Zombie vs Player damage as per above table, the game difficulty also impacts the calculated Gamestage being used for players. This in turn determines what horde (sleeper, wandering, blood moon, scout) the game generates at the relevant occasions.

As of Alpha 19, the Difficulty setting does not affect Gamestage.
