Description[ | ]

A Wolf is a wild animal commonly found in the Forest, Plains and Snowy Forest biomes. A Wolf is hostile and will try to chase and attack the player if provoked or if it spots the player. A Wolf is much faster than players and will easily outrun a player and catch them, so it is advised to take them down as fast as you can before they can reach you, or get to high ground like a car as they cannot climb it. Wolves can be spotted moving around in a small pack; this horde is not the same as other hordes as they will not go searching for the player and will wander aimlessly like a normal animal on its own. It isn't advised to take on these packs of Wolves as they will quickly kill the player unless the player is equipped with strong armor and weapons. The packs can also contain a Dire Wolf, which is a stronger variant. Wolves may occasionally attack Zombies that wander too close if the Wolf hasn't noticed the player yet.

Drops[ | ]

It is recommended to use a Bone Knife, Hunting Knife, or Machete when harvesting because it will provide the player with more resources than any other tool or weapon. Wolves will not drop any loot upon being killed but can be harvested for the following:

Notes[ | ]

  • As of A17, Some wolf packs contain a larger "alpha" Wolf. Other than a slight difference in size, and a bit more resources, it is unknown if it is any more powerful than a normal Wolf. This is not to be confused with the much more powerful Dire Wolf.
  • A Wolf's attack can also cause bleeding.
  • Sometimes a Wolf can jump on top of cars so this isn't a foolproof way of dealing with them.
