Description[ | ]

A Forge is used to smelt items like Small Stone, Scrap Iron, Iron Fragments, Scrap Lead, and Scrap Brass into refined products that are more useful. This process consumes time, fuel sources, and raw materials, as well as producing heat that may be investigated by Screamers. However, the payoff is well worth it. A Forge allows survivors to craft advanced Tools, Building Materials, ammunition components, and other Resources.

Forge Tools[ | ]

  • Before players start smelting with your Forge, it is reccommended that they acquire some tools. These tools occupy the tool slots of the Forge, and are used to unlock recipes. There are 3 tools that are needed for different recipes.
    • Anvil which is used for the basic smelting recipes.
    • Calipers which is used for more advanced recipes.
    • Tool & Die Set which is used for more intricate recipes.
  • All 3 of these tools can be found in loot across the world, but the Anvil is also craftable.

Forging Operations[ | ]

  • A Forge is fairly simple to make and operate, but requires a lot of Combustible fuel to keep running to produce materials.
  • To smelt materials into your forge, survivors must deposit raw materials, such as Scrap Iron or Iron Fragments, into the forge's Input slot. When the Forge is running, raw materials in the input slots will automatically be consumed, adding to the amounts of material inside the [[PAGENAME}} itself. The amount of each material stockpiled inside the Forge is visible. Once the Forge has enough material inside it, that material can be forged into products such as Forged Iron. This process takes additional time.
  • If you move or destroy your Forge you will lose all the materials that have been smelted into it. However, there are recipes for raw materials in the Forge's crafting menu, so the player can quickly retrieve their materials from the forge.
  • The Forge can consume raw materials and produce finished products at the same time. For example, if Scrap Brass and Scrap Lead are placed into the input slots, and the Forge begins producing Forged Iron, the operations will proceed at the same time, without taking any additional fuel or time.

Required Items[ | ]

Before the player can craft a Forge they will need the following items.

RockSmall 5x Small Stone
ShortMetalPipe 1x Short Iron Pipe
ClayLump 1x Lump of Clay
Bellows 1x Bellows

Crafting Recipe[ | ]

To craft a Forge just open your crafting window with the ingredients in your inventory and search for Forge in your crafting window search bar.

Combustibles or Fuel[ | ]

Many items found in 7 Days to Die are Combustible and can be used as a source of fuel for a Forge. Each different item will burn for a different amount of time, there is a number for each item if you look in it's description for how long it burns.

Note: If the forge is destroyed, all materials are lost. Materials can be forged back into their scrap parts through the forge. Most items require tools to make. For example, Bullet Tips only require the Anvil, which can be crafted at the forge. However, Bullet Casings require Calipers, which can only be looted. They are mainly found in Working Stiffs Crates.
