Some items' or groups' chance to drop changes according to the player's gamestage. Here you can see those values for any gamestage you want using the little box below. Description[edit | edit source]

Tools are items whose function is to make destroying different blocks easier for the player. Different items are better for different tasks such as mining stone, digging clay and chopping wood. Many items can have multiple purposes, as most tools can be used as weapons in a pinch and vice-versa. However, an emphasis has been made to make tools less effective when attacking entities. This can also be seen in some mods for the tools (for example, the Fireman's Axe mod increases block damage, but decreases entity damage). Items also vary on how effective they are for each task. Using the wrong tool will take much longer and, in the case of butchering, might not give as many resources as with the proper tool.

Below the tools are grouped to five different categories by their main usage. A complete list of tools can be found from List of tools.

Special Tools[edit | edit source]

Special Tools perform specific functions and don't fit any aforementioned category.

  • Bucket - Used for picking up a block of water, changing into a Bucket of Water. RMB picks up water, while LMB puts it down.
  • Paint Brush - Used for painting blocks with textures. Pressing and holding R with this tool equipped opens the texture selection window, allowing the player to choose their preferred texture. To change the texture of an object/block, Paint needs to be present in the player's inventory. RMB paints the object/block, while LMB will clear the texture to the original.
  • Lockpick - User for opening various locked container found in POIs, such as gun safes and desk safes.
  • Wire Tool - Used for adding wires between electrical devices. This allows linking various triggers, switches and machines together. RMB creates / connects wires between devices, while LMB clears a device of wires connected to it.
