Hydration is one of the main Character Stats. Hydration is a measure of the water level of a character. It slowly decreases over time, as well as when recovering Stamina. Failure to maintain a level of Hydration above 50% will lead to a character receiving progressively worse debuffs. Below 2% Hydration Severely Dehydrated will drain health over time and eventually kill if left untreated.

Temperature[ | ]

Temperature affects Hydration. If a character is overheating Hydration is decreased at a quicker rate.

  • When a character is Hot Hydration is decreased at a rate of 3 per stamina point recovered
  • When a character is Sweltering Hydration is decreased at a rate of 6 per stamina point recovered

The perk Well Insulated decreases the amount of Hydration loss when overheating, and makes a character more resistant to overheating in the first place.

Hydration Depletion[ | ]

Certain items and Foods such as Steroids can reduce your Hydration.

The perk Iron Gut and the drink Red Tea reduce both Hydration and Fullness depletion.

  • When Hydration drops below 50%, the status effect Thirsty is applied, notifying you that your Max Stamina is decreased.
  • When Hydration drops below 25%, the status effect Dehydrated is applied, notifying you that your Max Stamina is decreased.
  • When Hydration drops below 2%, the status effect Severely Dehydrated is applied, notifying you that your Max Stamina is decreased and damaging you over time.

Hydration Restoration[ | ]

Many Foods increase Hydration by a small amount, and many of the stews raise it by a significant amount. In the game this expressed as a Hydration value. Drinks are the easiest way to restore Hydration.
