Overview[]
Pipe Rifles were added to the game in Alpha 20. They are intended to be an early-game weapon, much like their precursor the Blunderbuss. The two core components used in crafting are pipes and glue.
Like all pipe weapons, it can be crafted right at the beginning of the game (assuming the player has all its crafting ingredients) requiring no workstations, books or skills.
It is highly favored over all the other pipe weapons due to its high ammo capacity and low reload time.
Combat[]
The Pipe Rifle provides medium-long range damage. With only a single round loaded at a time, the Pipe Rifle needs careful aiming for headshots to maximize damage. A lvl 1 Pipe Rifle at Nomad difficulty will almost always guarantee a kill on a normal zombie if it is a sneak-damage-multiplied headshot, thus it is best used to ambush enemies. The long reload time makes the Pipe Rifle a bit unwieldy against groups, in close quarters, or against fast-moving enemies like dogs.
Crafting[]
The recipe listed above is for crafting a quality 1 Pipe Rifle. With each level of the Dead Eye perk, the player is able to craft a higher quality Pipe Rifle, which requires more materials, up to quality 5. Every increasing tier uses 50% more materials.

Repair[]
The Condition of a Pipe Rifle deteriorates with each use until eventually it will stop working and will need to be repaired. This can be done using a Short Iron Pipe.
