Description[ | ]
The Primitive Bow is a craftable weapon in 7 Days to Die. It is a medium-range weapon that fires arrows as Ammunition. A Primitive Bow can be used with four different types of arrows: Stone Arrow, Iron Arrow, Steel Arrow and Flaming Arrow. It is considered as a starter weapon, because the player can craft it right at the beginning of his game and because of its low cost to craft.
To equip a different type of ammo than the default stone arrows, press and hold R, then select the ammo type you want.
Combat[ | ]
During combat, a Primitive Bow is a powerful medium to long range weapon. At short range, however, the player may have trouble because it requires reloading for each shot and therefore has a slow rate of fire. Due to its slow firing rate, a Primitive Bow should be used with care at short range.
The Primitive Bow can be used for stealth attacks, as firing an arrow doesn't make a sound and won't alert nearby zombies. Hitting a zombie, without killing him, does alert the zombie.

Notes[ | ]
- The damages given are based on the maximum and minimum values of the different types of arrows that the bow can use. The bow itself (without arrows) can not cause any damage.
- Aiming slightly above the head or slightly below the head and to the left usually guarantees a headshot. (this depends on how far away you are from the mob)
Tutorial[ | ]
The video below demonstrates how to aim depending on your distance from the target.
