Description[ | ]
Raw Iron used to come from mining. You would get a couple Raw Iron each time you hit the Iron Ore and a larger amount when you completely destroy the block. Raw Iron could be found above ground in Boulders and rock outcrops, and can be mined underground from rich Iron Ore by using a Pickaxe or a Stone Axe. Stone also used to drop 2 Raw Iron upon destruction.
Raw Iron no longer drops as of Alpha 18.1, however, it can still be found in the game files. Mining Iron Ore will only yield Iron in quantities relative to your skills and tools. Mining stone no longer produces Iron and will only produce Stone when mined.
Usage[ | ]
Raw Iron can be smelted in a Forge to increase the Iron (Forge) by 5 units, which is an ingredient in several Forge recipes including Forged Iron which repairs your tools, and is used in multiple crafting recipes, and Forged Steel after unlocking the Steel Smithing (Skill) to make Steel tools and upgrade your blocks to the highest level of material currently available.
Raw Iron can also be directly scrapped yielding 3.75 Iron, which is less than the 5 iron obtained through smelting.
Note[ | ]
- You can put both Raw Iron and/or Iron in the forge to smelt.
