Description[ | ]
An SMG-5 (sub-machine gun) is a rapid fire ranged weapon, which can be crafted or found throughout the world of 7 Days to Die in containers, such as weapon bags, Gun Safes, Crates, and Loot bags. The SMG uses 9mm Ammo and will hold ~28 bullets. Despite being called a sub-machine gun, it uses the Agility statistic shared with Pistol style weapons instead, since it uses 9mm Ammo.
Combat[ | ]
'During combat, the SMG-5 is a very effective short to medium range weapon, eliminating most enemies within seconds due to its accuracy and high rate of fire. Currently, it is one of the most effective weapons against large groups of Zombies due to its accuracy, large magazine, high rate of fire, and quick reloading speed. It also boasts minimal recoil, making it particularly accurate when aiming down the sight.
An SMG will reload automatically or it can be done manually by pressing the reload key (default key 'R').

The recipe above contains the Resources/Magazines needed for each Quality level of the SMG-5.
A higher Quality item may provide better stats at the cost of increased material and unlock requirements.
Repair[ | ]
The condition of an SMG-5 deteriorates with each use until eventually it will stop working and will need to be repaired. This can be done using a Repair Kit.

Notes[ | ]
- An SMG-5, like all weapons, can destroy blocks and structures.
- The model used in the game closely resembles the Heckler & Koch MP5SD3 as used by the US Navy Seals and the British SAS.
Easter Egg[ | ]
Many players have found the SMG-5 inside gun safes, Shotgun Messiah crates etc. with a note containing the message: "Jonathan werd' gesund und trinke deinen Yucca Juice".
People started to look this phenomenon up and found out that one of the developers has a brother living in Germany, to which this hidden message is addressed. It states that Jonathan shall get healthy, be cured from his illness, and always drink his Yucca Juice.
