Solar Cell | |
---|---|
Description[ | ]
Solar Cells were first introduced in A16. Up to a maximum of 6 cells may be installed in a Solar Bank. Solar Banks only generate current when they have cells in them. The maximum current generated by a Solar Cell is determined by its Quality. Solar Cells cannot be used outside a Solar Bank.
Solar Cells cannot be crafted or looted; they must be bought from Secret Stash pages of Trader NPCs. Solar cells appear with a Secret Stash level 2, even though Solar Banks require level 3.
The higher Quality the Solar Cell, the more power it produces, but the more it costs to buy. There is no other difference; Solar Cells do not wear out and never need repair.
Quality | Output |
---|---|
6 | 30W |
5 | 27W |
4 | 25W |
3 | 22W |
2 | 20W |
1 | 17W |
The total power output of a Solar Bank is a simple sum of the power of all the installed Cells. Empty cell locations do not otherwise affect performance and simply count as 0W. The maximum possible output of a Solar Bank is 180W.
Solar Cells can only operate during the daytime. During the entire daytime a Solar Cell will operate at its full capacity regardless of weather or which direction the Solar Bank is facing. However, they need to be placed outdoors in order to work.
