− | When used as a tool a PAGENAME is especially suited to the felling of trees, which in turn allows you to gather the Wood that are dropped when a tree is chopped down. It is also effective when used to destroy wood based blocks. As it is an appropriate tool for wood based blocks it will be more efficient to use than other tools, with the exception of the Chainsaw. A PAGENAME is capable of destroying blocks up to five blocks away. A PAGENAME will increase the amount of materials that you receive from harvesting, but it will be slow when used against anything but wood. It will give about half of the items (Raw Meat, etc) when used to butcher an animal, but it will destroy the carcass quickly. |

− | During combat a PAGENAME is a reasonably effective short range weapon and can kill an average Zombie with three direct hits to the head or five hits or more to the body. It is more effective against one or two Zombies and will not be very effective when dealing with a group of several Zombies at close quarters. It can be used quite effectively against single zombies when combined with the stealth of crouching to launch a sneak attack. |

Description[ | ]
A Steel Fireaxe is a Wood harvesting tool. The recipe requires Forged Steel (which requires the Steel Smithing (Skill))so it is a fairly late-game tool.
Uses[ | ]
As a Tool[ | ]
- Harvesting. Clicking the left mouse button will use the Steel Fireaxe, hitting any item or block that is targeted by the crosshairs and within range. This will allow you to mine blocks, harvesting Resources with each use. Fireaxes are the most effective tools chopping down Trees and for damaging wood-based items and blocks such as Wood Blocks.
As a Weapon[ | ]
- When used in combat, a Steel Fireaxe is an effective, short range Melee weapon.

Repair[ | ]
The condition of a Steel Fireaxe deteriorates with each use until eventually it will no longer work, before this happens it can be repaired. This can be done using Forged Steel which will restore the durability. As of Alpha 13, if you are low level and repair your high level Fireaxe it deteriorates the quality closer to your level instead of the tools. For example, if your tool crafting skill is level 10 and you repair a 600 quality Fireaxe, its quality will decrease by a certain percentage with each repair.
Scrapping[ | ]
A Steel Fireaxe can be scrapped by clicking on the Fireaxe and selecting "Scrap". This will however return a large quantity of Scrap Iron rather than Steel.
