Description

A Steel Shovel is a digging tool that can be found throughout the world in 7 Days to Die. It can be crafted using the correct items and is easy to craft, but the recipe requires Forged Steel, so you will need a forge and Steel Smithing (Skill) to be able to craft it. As of Alpha 15 a Workbench is required to craft the Steel Shovel. Its Durability will last for as long as the durability bar at the bottom of the icon shows. It can be repaired with Forged Steel, but with each repair it deteriorates in quality. It cannot be dismantled, but it can be scrapped, melted in a Forge and burnt as a source of Combustible fuel. As a tool it is most effective when used on earth based items.

Uses

As a Tool

When used as a tool a Steel Shovel is especially suited to digging, which in turn allows you to gather various materials. It is also effective when used to destroy earth based blocks as it is the appropriate tool for earth based blocks. A Steel Shovel is capable of destroying blocks up to four blocks away.

As a Weapon

It is not designed to be a weapon and it does very little damage to a Zombie

Crafting Recipe

To Craft a Steel Shovel go to your Workbench and search for the Steel Shovel and select craft.

Repair

The condition of a Steel Shovel deteriorates with each use until eventually it will stop working. You can repair the Shovel with Forged Steel. Be aware though with each repair the quality level degrades, so only repair when you have too.

Scrapping

A Steel Shovel can be scrapped by clicking the "Scrap" option. This will allow you to craft Scrap Iron.
